00RESOLUTION#15-15ENDORSINGTHEESTESVALLEYRECREATIONANDPARKDISTRICTBALLOTISSUES4C(TOCOVERAPORTIONOFTHECOSTSOFOPERATINGANDMAINTAININGTHEESTESVALLEYCOMMUNITYCENTER)AND4D(TOCONSTRUCT,IMPROVEANDEQUIPTHEESTESVALLEYCOMMUNITYCENTER)WHEREAS,TheEstesValleyRecreationandParkDistrictBoardhasunanimouslyreferredBallotIssues4C(tocoveraportionofthecostsofoperatingandmaintainingtheEstesValleyCommunityCenter)and4D(toconstruct,improveandequiptheEstesValleyCommunityCenter)tothevotersoftheEstesValleyRecreationandParkDistrictontheNovember3,2015coordinatedelectionballotand;WHEREAS,a2014voter-approved1/4%salestaxservesastheTownofEstesPark’sinvestmentintheEstesValleyCommunityCenterandprovidesfortheincorporationoftheTown’sSeniorCenterand,WHEREAS,this1/4%salestaxwillproduceanestimated$5millioninrevenuebeforeitssunsetin2024,whichallowsforareductionintheamountoftheCommunityCenterbondissuesandtheirtaximpactand;WHEREAS,theTownofEstesPark,theEstesParkSchoolDistrictR-3,theEstesParkMedicalCenter,theEstesValleyPublicLibrary,andtheEstesValleyRecreationandParkDistricthavepartneredtoaddresstheneedforyear-roundcommunityspacethatsupportsdesiredcitizenprogramsand;WHEREAS,theEstesValleyCommunityCenterwillimprovethequalityoflifeforresidentsofallagesbyprovidingmultigenerationalcommunityandrecreationspaceand;WHEREAS,theEstesValleyCommunityCenteriscriticaltothecontinuedsuccessoftheTown’sSeniorServicesDivision;NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADOtosupportandendorseBallotIssues4Cand4D.DATEDthis—‘dayof___________ATTEST:1ojnClerk2015.
