Narrative:*
Having lived in Estes Park for 25 years, I’ve gotten to know all types of people – workers, business owners,
professionals, and retirees. All together, we make up a great community that shares a love of the natural world
and the beautiful mountain valley we live in.
In 1999 I moved to Estes Park from Kansas City when I bought Mary’s Lake Lodge. The historic Lodge had to be
totally renovated. After designing and overseeing the historic renovation, I was the managing partner of the
Lodge for three years after its re-opening. I sold my interest in Lodge in 2005. Since then, I have designed and
built over 100 residential units in Estes Park, as well as providing planning services for many others.
Over the years I have been involved in the community in many ways, including as a founding member and
president of the Estes Valley Watershed Coalition, a member of the Trails Committee of the Recreation District,
the Estes Valley Fire Services Task Force, the Town’s Transportation Committee, president of the Fire District
Board, a member of the Estes Valley Planning Commission, the Estes Valley Planning Advisory Committee, and
on both the County and Town Comprehensive Plan advisory committees.
If elected to the Town Board, my main areas of interest will be in workforce housing, the update of the
Development Code, and promoting greater cooperation between the County and Town.
Other than work, my main interests include playing music, architecture, workforce housing, environmental
issues, family, and my dog.
