I worked at EPMC as a paramedic, started a sign business, owned the movie theater, traveled the country with family of 9 in a bus, and now own a business downtown. I’ve always worked more than full time, I’m hands-on every day. I’m optimistic about the future with business and growing families- three children in college, two engaged, and two married- and the return of my oldest son to Estes Park with his wife, now homeowners. Estes Park has provided me many opportunities; in return I’ve volunteered- mainly with the Fire Dept for 34 years. Now I hope to share my perspective as a trustee on community issues and planning, bringing my day-to- day experience with business and family to the conversation. If elected, I will continue listening to all voices, and represent neighbors concerned about today's living conditions, and our future together. In the last 20 years I have discussed important local issues after research and my own experience, in front of local government and neighbors, even when the conversation was difficult. I am invested emotionally and financially as a resident taxpayer, with the benefit of interacting with thousands of locals and visitors in a downtown business. The Town Board should stand up for citizens first, in turn our visitors will have a pleasant experience. Trustees must ensure that government runs efficiently, while exploring ideas for a healthy future. Learn more about me at www.facebook.com/markigeltrustee
