I was an active advocate of broadband initiatives and for communication line expansions. Extensive training in personnel management, 360-degree feedback courses, information technology components, and much more. My personal goal is to continue to listen and learn throughout my life, with extensive readings in psychology, philosophy, management, and more. Narrative:* I want to continue to serve the great Estes Park community. I have deep and broad management experience, including personnel management and development, budget creation and oversight, team dynamics, and project leadership. I have the right personality to help cultivate and maintain a collaborative, respectful, progressive culture. I believe that Estes would find me to be a strong, wise, connected leader. Some of the key issues facing Estes include workforce housing; daycare; financial stability; visitor relations; etc. Retention of experienced, knowledgeable staff in all parts of town government is very important to our success. Communication is fundamental to everything, and strong, redundant broadband and internet services are critical for our businesses, our schools, our town, and our hospital. It's also essential that our phone systems, water management, and electrical management are robust and healthy. Other issues include improvements in traffic flow and appropriate road maintenance; the 1% sales tax renewal; proper all-hazards emergency preparedness and mitigation of flood/fire danger; noise management in our peaceful mountain haven; and more. We need to continue to strive to have a culture of respect for all and to have a strong, stable, well-managed police force. Support of the EV Fire Protection team is very important. My wife and I have been here in paradise for 20 years. Linda and I have done the Colorado 14ers; we have our lifetime National Park passes. We're members of Trail Trekkers; we play occasionally in musical groups in town. We helped found the Estes Park Marathon. We consider this our forever home, and we want Estes to continue to be a wonderful place to live and thrive. The intent of my candidacy is to help that stay true.
