Superintendent Sweetland discussed with the Committee the changes in the electrical inspection laws of the State of Colorado which will necessitate the obtaining of a qualified state electrical inspector.Mr.Sweetland informed the Committee that the State Electrical Board would qualify the Town Building Inspector upon his passage of the Journeymen’s Electrical Examination as a state inspector. He recommended that when the Building Inspector was qualified, that he not only continue the electrical inspections within the corporate limits of the Town, but also make all electrical in spections within the area serviced by the Light &Power Department. After further discussion, the Committee said that they would recommend this pro cedure be followed and that they would authorize payment of all expenses incurred by the Building Inspector in taking the necessary examinations to become qualified as a state electrical inspector. The Building Inspector called to the Committee’s attention the necessity of an ordinance being prepared to control septic tanks and private sewage disposal systems within the Town of Estes Park,as the County had excluded from their jurisdiction all corporate towns within Larimer County. The Building Inspector went over the Larimer County and Jefferson County regu lations that govern such installations, and it was decided that certain parts of these regulations were not applicable to the conditions existing within the Town of Estes Park. The Committee directed the Building Inspector to prepare an ordinance for submission to the attorney and Board of Trustees based on the County regulations incorporating changes as discussed for con s iderat ion. The jurisdictional authority for inspection and water sampling in swimming pools within the corporate limits was discussed, and the Committee decided to let the County continue with this service,as they have expressed a willingness to do so,with the understanding if enforcement measures were needed they could use the Town’s health officer. The Building Inspector requested permission from the Committee topoint Mr. George Lambert as a deputy building inspector with the authority to write septic tank permits and make inspections within the corporate limits of the Town of Estes Park. This request was so granted by the Committee. The Building Inspector requested a raise of salary, which the Committee will take under immediate advisement and will make recommendations at the next Board of Trustees meeting. 1APPRö1I51 /,dHackt’t,’Building Inspector MAY 9 1966 C, TOWN OF ESTES PARK L BOARD OF TRUSTEES
