The Committee discussed the proposed Moraine Avenue street vacate
adjacent to the Adam Koch property.As of this date,the State Highway
Department has not yet approved the vacate.Chairman Grove reported
that Mr.Koch no longer wants the vacate.Chairman Grove is to obtain
additional information on this vacate so that the State Highway Department
can be so notified.
Town Engineer,Paul Van Horn explained the method and procedure used in
establishment of the line locating Mr.Koch’s retaining wall next to the
river.Mr.Koch has indicated that he would like to tie this wall into
the bridge abutment,raise it to the sidewalk level,and finish the side
walk.The retaining wall will have a 32 inch hand rail installed for
the entire length of the wall.Any attachment to the bridge will require
the approval of the State Highway Department.The Committee recommends
that the Town request permission from the State Highway Department for
the above mentioned bridge attachment and that the Town pay the engineering
cost of obtaining the permit.The Committee also recommends the Building
Inspector be instructed to issue to Mr.Koch a permit to construct the
retaining wall on a line as determined by the Town Engineer.
Town Ordinance No.274,amended the Town Sign Code and extended to May 5,
1967,the period of time in which all non-conforming signs must conform.
The Committee instructed the Building Inspector to advise the owners of
all non-conforming signs of the May 5th date.
