WHEREAS,through his professional and civic
contributions,Bill Smith has been an active part of the
community since moving to Estes Park in 1986;and
WHEREAS,Bill’s career in the funeral service field
began at the age of 15,and upon moving to Colorado in
1981,he worked for Goodrich Mortuary in fort Collins,
that was purchased by the Aflnutt family;and
WHEREAS,for the past 35 years,Bill has served as
Location Manager and funeral Director of Estes Park’s local
mortuary,which today operates as Ailnuft Funeral Services,
Estes Park Chapel;and
WHEREAS,Bill’s expertise,compassion,and kindness have
helped to bring comfort to countless families during times of
sorrow,grief and anxiety,helping survivors in honoring,
remembering,and celebrating their loved ones;and
WHEREAS,Bill has been a vital part of Estes Park’s civic and
nonprofit community,particularly through his service to the Rotary
Club of Estes Park,and as a member of the Sons of the American
Legion,as well as being a member of the Presbyterian Community
Church of the Rockies;and
‘WhEREAS,Bill has officially retired from his long career with AIlnull
funeral Services as of December 3,2021,and is looking forward to
enjoying more time with his family,including his three children and four
grandchildren and visiting Rocky Mountain National Park.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby recognize

and do hereby find it an honor and distinct pleasure to present this
Proclamation in recognition of his professional and civic contributions to the
Town of Estes Park.
