APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT
OF LOCAL AFFAIRS TO CONDUCT A HOUSING NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND
DRAFT A HOUSING STRATEGIC PLAN
WHEREAS,the need for housing in the Estes Valley has been identified for
several decades and has only become more significant with the population growth of
Northern Colorado and the increase in the number of visitors to our community;and
WHEREAS,the lack of available and affordable housing options in the
community impacts our ability to recruit permanent and seasonal workforce which has a
cascading effect on the livability and sustainability of the Estes Valley;and
WHEREAS,the State is providing funding through HB21-1271 as part of the
Innovative Affordable Housing Strategies Planning Grant Program to assist
communities in learning more about local housing needs and ways to address them;
and
WHEREAS,the Town Board desires to enter into the Intergovernmental
Agreement referenced in the title of this resolution for the purpose of supporting a
Housing Needs Assessment and Housing Strategic Plan.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
The Board approves the intergovernmental agreement referenced in the title of this
resolution in substantially the form now before the Board.
