“SWITCHGEAR”FOR MARYS LAKE SUBSTATION -REVIEW OF BID PROPOSALS:
Light and Power Director Dekker submitted proposals for the
switchgear that will be installed at the Marys Lake Substation:
Powell Electric Manufacturing Corporation $106,205
Systems Control $129,163
Westinghouse Electric Corporation $136,450
Due to the “tie—breaker”not being available to Powell Electric,
it was not included in their bid.The Town’s engineering consul
tant firm has obtained information whereby the Town could pur
chase the breaker directly from the manufacturer at a price of
$16,928.Powell’s evaluated bid price of $123,133 is $6,030
lower than the next lowest bidder.Town Attorney White has
reviewed the contract documents.Following discussion,the
Committee recommends the bid in the amount of $106,205 for the
15KV metal clad switchgear be awarded to Powell Electric
Manufacturing Corporation and that the Light and Power Department
be authorized to purchase the tie-breaker directly from the
manufacturer for $16,928±.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
