HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1987-01-080 0 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS ‘Light and Power Committee January 8,1987 Committee:Chairman Laing,Trustees Brown and Habecker Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Dannels,Light and Power Director Dekker,Finance Officer Vavra,Clerk 0’Connor Absent:Town Administrator Hill 1987 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE -ADOPTION: Director Dekker submitted a copy of the 1987 National Electrical Code.Following discussion,the Committee recommends adoption of the 1987 National Electrical Code,authorizing Town Attorney White to prepare the Ordinance. ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCK -AUTHORIZATION TO BID: Two ½-Ton pick-up trucks were budgeted in 1987.Director Dekker requested authorization to bid one truck at this time.The trade—in vehicle will be the 1975 Supercab.The Committee recommends approval of the request. REPORTS: Concerning delinquent accounts for December,125 calls were made, 55 notes were placed,and 20 accounts were disconnected. Director Dekker reported that for the second consecutive year, the Department achieved a perfect safety record.This effort will be recognized by the American Public Power Association. Preliminary 1986 year—end purchased power and sales figures indicate an approximate $50,000 improvement compared to earlier budget estimates. Construction is on schedule for the Marys Lake Substation Proj ect. Mr.James Pendergrass has submitted his resignation as General Manager of the Platte River Power Authority.During the interim, Mr.Jay Hopper has been appointed Acting General Manager. The Committee and Staff expressed their appreciation to Chairman Laing for outstanding performance during her term of office. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
