Chairman Hix called the meeting of the Light and Power Committee to
order at 2:00 P.M.
ONE-TON UTILITY TRUCK -AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE.
The Committee reviewed the State bid for a one-ton utility truck which
will replace the five-year-old “duty truck”:
Cab,Chassis,utility body
w/modifications $18,573
(Burt Chevrolet)
Trade—in/Sale price -7,500±
Net Cost $11,073
The total budgeted amount was $18,000.The Committee recommends staff
be authorized to purchase the utility truck as identified above.
SERVICE BUILDING “OPEN HOUSE”-AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED.
Light and Power Director Dekker reported the “open house”for the new
service facility will be held February 20,1990 from 12:00 Noon until
6:00 P.M.Refreshments,favors and door prizes will be offered for
a total maximum cost of $1,000.00.Among the door prizes,is a one
month residential electric bill at no charge (maximum $200.00).Town
employees will he exempt from all door prizes.The Committee
recommends approval of the expenditure.
REPORTS.
While scheduled maintenance was being performed,several employees took
advantage of the tour of the Rawhide Generating Plant.
PRPA has been notified that the Western Area Power Administration has
proposed raising the wholesale power rate by 46%effective in October,
1990.This increase may affect PRPA members’rates in the future.
The Delinquent Account report indicated 77 telephone calls were made,
down 19%;21 notes were placed,up 23%;and 11 accounts were discon
nect,down 21%.
The Committee reviewed the Quarterly Franchise Payments made by Cable
Systems,and the Trapper Mine Restructuring Plan.
Director Dekker commented that under Capital Expenditures in the 1990
Budget,$15,000 was budgeted in Shop Equipment.These funds are used
to purchase small pieces of shop equipment.The Committee commented it
was not necessary for them to review these items prior to purchasing
them contingent upon the Department not exceeding the budgeted amount.
There being no further business,Chairman Hix adjourned the meeting at
2:20 P.M.
