Chairman Aldrich called the Committee meeting to order at 2:02 P.M.
COPIER STAND-AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE.
Staff requested authorization to purchase a stand for the
engineering copier;Xerox state pricing is $525.The total
expenditure for the copier and stand is $4,890,$110.00 under
budget.The Committee recommends staff be authorized to purchase
the copier stand.
REPORTS.
Director Matzke reported on events held during Public Power Week
October 7-13.151 elementary school students attended electrical
safety classes,a display (furnished by the Platte River Power
Authority (P.R.P.A.))was placed in the lobby,and the Department
sponsored a breakfast.
The Committee was briefed on an outage which occurred September
18th when lightning struck the Flatiron Substation that serves
Estes Park and Granby causing an outage in Estes Park for 26
minutes.Director Matzke has met with representatives from
W.A.P.A.,B.O.R.and P.R.P.A.in an effort to prevent such an
occurrence in the future.Additional information will be
forthcoming.
An R.M.E.L.Distribution Committee Meeting was held October 18 &19
in Estes Park.Many favorable comments were received and staff is
attempting to schedule additional R.M.E.L.conferences.
Staff reported on current projects including the underground
primary line for the conference center,Highway 36 street lights
(11 lights installed),Christmas decorations,and employee training
(license testing for commercial vehicles,and first—aid).
Assistant Administrator Widmer reported on P.R.P.A.activities,
including their 1991 Budget,Annual Official Statement,and
discussion of natural gas franchises.
There being no further business,Chairman Aldrich adjourned the
meeting at 3:04 P.M.
