HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1971-04-01RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light and Power Committee Meeting April 1,1971 Committee:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Petrocir and Brownfield Attending:Chairman Tregent;Trustee Brownfield Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent Sweetland, Asst.Supt.Dekker,Business Office Manager Duncan, Town Attorney Hartwell Absent:Trustee Petrocine PlATTE RIVER MUNICIPAL POWER ASSOCIATION CONTRACT: Town Attorney Hartwell met with the Committee and reported that he has reviewed the contract.After meeting with Platte River Attorney Ray Moses in the near future,Town Attorney Hartwell will report back to the Committee with recommendations. SCHOOL ELECTRIC RATE: Superintendent Sweetland reported that a letter has been written to the School District informing them that additional study will be required before any rate revisions may be considered. ADDITION TO SUBSTATION: Superintendent Sweetland reported that R.W.Beck and Associates, consulting engineers from Denver,have been contacted.Beck and Associates have submitted a proposed agreement for Engineering Services and Electrical System Modifications in the amount of $18,500.00 requir ing authorization to proceed.$226,500.00,plus necessary beautification of the substation is the total estimate of funds required for the project. The Committee recommends that the engineering contract with Beck and Associates be signed upon concurrence by the Town Attorney. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE EXTENSION: Superintendent Sweetland reported that copies of existing extension policies and rates have been sent to the National Park Service.The fee for preliminary engineering will amount to approximately $8,000.00 for the extension.A formal reply from the Park Service will be expected in the near future. STREET LIGHTS: The Committee recommends the installation of approximately 30 additional 1,000 watt street lights to be installed on Elkhorn Avenue according to the street lighting plan.As funds are available,additional lights will be installed.
