HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1970-12-21fl n RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light and Power Counnittee Meeting December 21,1970 Committee:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Petrocine and Brownfield Attending:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Petrocine and Brownfield Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent Sweetland, Asst.Supt.Dekker,Office Manager Duncan TRUCK BIDS: Superintendent Sweetland requested approval to replace three vehicles which are Nos.12,28 and 29.The Committee recommends purchasing 1971 vehicles through the State of Colorado Purchasing Agent according to Superintendent Sweetland’s specifications and selling the replaced vehicles by bid or transferring to other departments when new units are received. STREET LIGHTS: Superintendent Sweetland presented a town map on which present and pro posed street lights are located and presented a request to replace 400 watt lights on Elkhorn Avenue with 1000 watt lights.The Committee re commends approval of the general street lighting plan and to replace six 400 watt lights with 1000 watt lights on a trial basis. RIVERSIDE PARKING LOT LIGHTING: Superintendent Sweetland requested permission to purchase fixtures according to lighting proposal plan “A”or proposal plan “B”prepared by Van Horn Engineering.The Committee recommends proceeding with plan PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT POWER RATE: Superintendent Sweetland read a letter requesting a reduction in demand rate billing.The Committee recommends immediate acknowledgement of the letter with an answer to follow in a few weeks after giving further study to the request.The Committee authorized Superintendent Sweetland to purchase a recording demand meter to be used to compile demand infor mation relating to this and other large demand accounts. POWDER MAGAZINE: Superintendent Sweetland presented the need for a storage magazine as required by the State of Colorado.The magazine will be used jointly by the Street Department and the Light and Power Department.The Corn mittee recommends approval to construct the magazine. DEPARTMENT TITLES: The Committee decided to make the following title changes as of January 1,1971: Robert W.Dekker -Assistant Superintendent Thomas W.Dean -Foreman RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Page two Light and Power Committee Meeting December 21,1970 IBM TYPEWRITER: Building Office Manager Duncan requested approval to purchase a new electric IBM typewriter.The Committee recommends approval. UNDERGROUND ING: Superintendent Sweetland suggested undergrounding of the primary line from the substation along Highway 34 to the junction of Highway 34 and the east property line of the Stanley Properties and one span north to a riser pole.The Committee authorized Superintendent Sweetland to order the materials at once and proceed with the project.
