HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1970-06-16nfl RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS June 16,1970 Light and Power Committee Meeting Committee:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Petrocine and Brownfield Attending:Chairman Tregent;Trustees Petrocine and Brownfield Also Attending:Superintendent Sweetland,Office Manager Duncan, Town Administrator Hill and Asst.Supt.Dekker POLE USE AGREEMENT: Superintendent Sweetland reported that the Telephone Company attorney is back in her office after vacation and that the pole use agreement should be executed in the near future. FIVE-CITY MEETING: Estes Park will host a meeting on June 24,1970,in the Town Hall at 10:00 A.M. RECREATION DISTRICT POWER RATE REQUEST: Superintendent Sweetland presented a request for a special commercial heating rate.Chairman Tregent referred this request to Superintendent Sweetland,Town Administrator Hill and Office Manager Duncan for addi tional information. OVER-AGE WORK REQUEST: Superintendent Sweetland advised the Committee that he will be age 65 on July 18,1970,and requests permission to continue working.The Committee recommends to the Board of Trustees that permission be granted. POWER FOR RMP: Superintendent Sweetland advised the Committee of the possibility of serving the Utility Area and surrounding RMEP area with power in the near future. CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE PROPOSALS: After considerable discussion of both proposals,the Committee recommends meeting again with Mr.Robert Smith to obtain additional information. The meeting recessed and will reconvene with Mr.Smith at a later date. June 18,1970 Also Attending:Mr.Robert Smith from Colorado Cable TV Co. COLORADO CABLE TV CO.PROPOSAL: The Committee reconvened with Mr.Robert Smith from Colorado Cable TV Co.who agreed to the following changes in their original proposal: 1.3 percent franchise fee plus $750.00 per year in Occupational Taxes with a review each five (5)years. 2.Term of the franchise will be for ten (10)years. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS June 18,1970 Light and Power Committee Meeting Page two 3.Furnish a license and permit bond in an amount equal to the value of the distribution system. 4.From Section 5,strike the word “commence”and rephrase to indicate complete coverage of the corporate limits of the Town within twelve (12)months. 5.Construction may begin sooner than September 15th in areas that do not interfere with traffic and trade. The Committee recommends to the Town Board that a cable TV permit be granted to Colorado Cable TV Co. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
