HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1973-04-05RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light and Power Committee Meeting April 5,1973 Committee: Attending: Also Attending: Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Wagner and Burgess Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Wagner and Burgess Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent Dekker, Business Office Manager Duncan,Engineer Van Horn LIGHT &POWER SERVICE BUILDING: Town Engineer Van Horn reported on the PCR evaluation of two proposals from metal building firms and the cost of a custom building.Engineer Van Horn indicated the need for further investigation to obtain addi tional figures from the firms submitting proposals in order to compare equivalent bids.Staff estimates for the building are as follows: Floor Design . G &W Taps Paving Fence Plumbing Steel Shelving . $ 3,000.00 27,950.0032,264.007,000.00550.002,175.00750.001,500.00400.001,000.005,000.005,000.001,500.00 SUB-TOTAL $88,589.00 Contingency @ 107.8,858.90 SUB-TOTAL $97,447.90 5,000.00 TOTAL $102,447.90 The Committee recommends further investigation by the Town Engineer and Light and Power Superintendent to obtain additional bid information and grants approval to proceed with the building with $102,500.00 as a cost ceiling. APPA-OSHA COURSE: Superintendent Dekker requested permission to send two light and power employees to attend the APPA one day OSHA course to be held in Denver on April 25.The Committee recommends approval for two employees. PRMPA ASSESSMENT: Superintendent Dekker presented an assessment in the amount of $530.00 requested by PENPA.The Committee recommends approval of the assess ment payment and that future assessments be handled by management. RECEIPT FOR ADVANCED FUNDS: Superintendent Dekker presented a proposed form prepared by the PRNFA attorney for consideration and adoption by each individual municipality as a receipt for prepayment of power.The Committee recommends for warding the receipt to the Town Attorney for his opinion. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light and Power Committee Meeting April 5,1973 Page two CURRENT PROJECT REPORT: Superintendent Dekker advised the Committee of completion of the upgrad ing and re-routing of the tie line between the South line circuit and the Big Thompson line circuit.This will make a more dependable line with about five times the previous capacity.SuperintendentDekker also advised the Committee of completion of the Glen Haven line tree trimming by a contractor. He also reported that underground power construction costs for one of the most recent proposed subdivisions will follow past experiences of approximately three times overhead power line construction costs.
