HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1974-04-0400 0 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light and Power Committee Meeting April 4,1974 Committee:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Wagner and Burgess Attending:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Wagner and Burgess Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Superintendent Dekker, Business Office Manager Duncan Absent:None SECRETARY FOR UTILITIES AND ENGINEERING AREA: Superintendent Dekker requested a secretary for the Utilities and Engineering area.The Committee recommends and authorized Superintendent Dekker to proceed with hiring. RATE STUDY PROGRESS REPORT: Superintendent Dekker reported that a rate presentation should be ready by August from Mr.Jordan of R.W.Beck and Co. STREET LIGHT REDUCTION REPORT: Superintendent Dekker reported that the program is complete with every other light disconnected where practical.The net result of the program is about a 20%reduction in Town street light consumption. LINEMAN STATUS: Superintendent Dekker reported hiring a lineman from Kansas.The department still may hire an additional lineman in the near future. SUBSTATION STRUCTURE SALE: Superintendent Dekker reported that Miner &Miner Engineering Firm has negotiated for the old substation structure for one of their customers for $6,895.00.The Committee recommends approval. SUBSTATION SITES INVESTIGATION: Superintendent Dekker reported that staff members from Platte River Power Authority will assist the Town Light and Power Department in locating suitable sites and negotiating with the Bureau of Reclamation for future transmission line taps. APRIL 10TH PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY MEETING: Superintendent Dekker reported that the annual PRPA Joint Session of City Councils will be held in Fort Collins on April 10,1974.
