PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY PROPOSED RESOLUTION REGARDING LONGMONT RESOLUTION 40-74: Superintendent Dekker presented a memorandum from Platte River Power AuthoritywithacopyofaletterattachedfromPlatteRiver’s financial advisor,Kuhn,Loeb &Co.,of New York.In the letter,Mr.Katzin sets forth cogent reasonsforrejectingthepositionadvocatedbytheLongmontResolution.The CommitteereaffirmstheirpreviousdecisionofnochangeinthecurrentoperatingproceduresofPlatteRiver. STREET LIGHTS —NEW SUBDIVISION: Town Attorney Hartwell is in the process of drafting an ordinance reflecting thechangeinsubdivisionstandardsrequiringdeveloperstoinstallstreetlights. ADOPTION OF 1975 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE: Superintendent Dekker presented a copy of the 1975 National Electric Code andrequestedadoptionbytheTown.The Committee instructed the Town Clerk to haveandordinancedrawnadoptingtherevisededitionofthe1975ElectricCode. NEW DECALS: Superintendent Dekker presented a price quotation and an estimated breakdownofcostsbyDepartmentsfornewdecals.The Committee recommends approval ofthequotationandauthorizesorderingdecalsforallDepartments. INFORMATION ITEMS: a)Street Light Program —Superintendent Dekker reports that 14 or 15residentiallightshavebeeninstalledasperthestreetlightschedule.Information is still incomplete on the costs and types of the various streetlightpolesandfixturesavailableforhighwaylighting. b)Service Building Fencing —Superintendent Dekker reported thatfencingaroundthewarehouseiscompleted. c)Status of Current Jobs —Underground power installations have justrecentlybeenstartedinFallRiverEstatessubdivisionandthethirdfiling ofWindcliffEstates.Work is continuing on the power installations to the UpperThompsonSanitationDistrictfacilities.The capital investment for these jobsplusafewsmalleronesnowunderconstructioniscloseto$100,000.00 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Light &Power Committee November 7,1974 Page Two (2) d)3/4 Ton Ford Pickup —Superintendent Dekker reported an offer of$1,000 for the vehicle and requested authorization to sell.The Committeerecommendsapproval. e)Christmas Lighting —Superintendent Dekker reported that severalChristmasscenesalreadyhavebeenerectedandsomelightshavebeeninstalled.The Committee recommends installing all Christmas lights on the same basisfollowedin1972.$100.00 was authorized to be used for prizes in theeventaChristmaslightingcontestisheldthisyear.
