HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1975-11-06RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS LIGHT and POWER COMMITTEE ./November 6,1975 COMMITTEE:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Wagner and Burgess ATTENDING:Chairman Petrocine;Trustees Burgess ALSO ATTENDING:Town Administrator Hill,Director Dekker and Finance Officer Duncan. ABSENT:Trustee Wagner PROPOSED MARY’S LAKE SUBSTATION: Director Dekker advised that a letter has been mailed to the Bureau of Reclamation requesting permission to tap their line at the proposed sub station site.The Committee recommends starting conditional negotiations for the necessary property. NEW FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE: Director Dekker requested authority to request bids on a four wheel drive vehicle to be used by a meter reader with delivery in 1976.The Committee recommends approval. CHRISTMAS LIGHTING: Director Dekker advised that Christmas lights are traditionally turned on in agreement with the Chamber of Commerce ceremony date and turned off the first Monday after New Year’s Day.The Committee recommends approval. FALL RIVER ROAD STREET LIGHTS: A group of owners from the Fall River area met with Director Dekker and Town Administrator Hill requesting that street lights be extended only from the junction of Fall River Road and Highway 34 to Park’s Pine Haven Lodge and not to the Town’s limit on Fall River Road.The suggestion was made to mail questionaires to all the property owners in the area as to whether or not street lights are desired.The Committee recommends approval. INFORMATION ITEMS: A.LINE TRUCK -Additional quotations have been received on line trucks.Comparative figures and recommendations will be presented at the next meeting. B.TRENCHING MACHINE -Another trenching machine was demonstrated to the Department on November 5th.Cost proposals will be avail able by next meeting on all units that have been demonstrated. C.EVIA MEETING -Director Dekker and Town Administrator Hill met with EVIA officers and representatives from the Carriage Hills group to answer questions as to the necessity for the proposed Ligh and Power rate increase.
