HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1978-02-02SRADFORD PUBIJSHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Light and Power Committee VFebruary 2,1978 Committee:Chairman Petrocine,Trustees Burgess and Wagner Attending:Chairman Petrocine,Trustees Burgess and Wagner Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Light & Power Director Dekker,Finance Officer Duncan Absent:None STREET LIGHTS: The street light priority list established by the Light and Power Committee in 1974 was reviewed in conjunction with requests for additional street lighting in the Fall River Road area and the Graves Avenue area.The Fall River Road street lights will cost about $2,400 and the Graves Avenue about $1,000 which along with $10,000 allocated for Elkhorn Avenue street lighting and $5,000 to complete the priority list would run less than the $20,000 budgeted.The Committee recom mends installing three street lights each in the Fall River Road area and Graves Avenue area. SUPPLEMENTAL POWER PURCHASE SURCHARGE -P .U .C.FILING: Estes Park’s share of the supplemental power purchase for a twelve month period ending March 26,1979 will be approximately 6.65%or $97,695.To recover this cost,a surcharge will be applied to retail rates and will vary from month to month.The Committee recommends proceeding with filing this surcharge with the P.U.C.and adopting the ordinance establishing the new tariffs. A.P.P.A ENGINEERING &OPERATIONS WORKSHOP: The Committee authorized Robert Dekker and Tom Dean to attend the A.P.P.A Engineering &Operations Workshop in San Francisco February 27th through March 3rd. REPORTS: CONSERVATION PROGRAM -is presently being discussed by the four cities of PRPA and a model ordinance will be proposed at a later date. P.R.P.A.SUBSTATIONS -will be tied into a computer system in Ft. Collins to further coordinate power distribution. FALL RIVER HYDRO PLANT -is currently undergoing repairs which should increase its power production 5—10%. There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
