HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1980-03-06BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R £C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E £D N G S Light &Power Committee March 6,1980 Committee:Chairman Burgess,Trustees Houston and Swickard Attending:All Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Town Administrator Hill,Director Dekker Finance Officer Duncan CABLEVISION: A few citizens appeared before the Committee discussing their problems with Cablevision and Cablevision Manager Carl Occhionero addressed each problem individually.An anonymous letter dated March 3rd regarding nonpaying customers was also read.Mr.Occhionero then explained a four year construction rebuild plan of the Cablevision system along with pro posed new program offerings planned for summer.He also requested the Committee consider a procedure to handle complaints which he will submit at a later date. STREET LIGHTING IN ALLENSPARK: Don Kvols of Allenspark requested two unmetered street lights be installed in the Ferncliff area.He offered to furnish the poles,dig the holes, and install two additional lights on his own in the area.The Committee directed Light &Power Director Dekker to study the request and submit cost estimates at the next regular Committee meeting. AMENIMENTS TO PRPA ORGANIC CONTRACT AND POWER SALES CONTRACT: The Committee reviewed proposed amendments to the PRPA Organic Contract and Power Sales Contract which are necessary for PRPA to obtain addi tional financing.The Committee recommends adoption of the ordinance enacting these changes. TRANSMISSION FACILITIES TRANSFER AGREEMENT: Mayor Tregent and Light &Power Director Dekker reported that they pre sented the Town’s position on the proposed Transmission Facilities Transfer Agreement as directed by the Light &Power Committee to the Platte River Power Authority Board but majority vote of the Board favored the agreement.The Committee recommends the Town enter into this agreement. REPORTS: State approval has been received for the proposed Light &Power shop ventilation system to alleviate the methane gas problem. A mile and a half of new line along Fish Creek Road has been completed. Yampa #2 has had to be shut down due to operating problems and will probably be in operative for 3-4 weeks.PRPA will have to purchase power elsewhere for this period. Site preparation for the Rawhide project should begin this month. PRPA will be expanding its office facilities with a 14,000 sq.ft.addi tion and garage.
