CABLEVISION PURCHASE:
Wayne Unze of Mickelson Media Inc.appeared before the Committee
requesting a transfer of the cablevision revocable permit to his
company upon its purchase of Cablevision of Estes Park presently
owned by Liberty Communications.He explained that his company
would rebuild the system in approximately six months and provide
twenty channels and an additional sixteen channels within eight
years.Current customer rates would remain the same for about a
year.The Committee expressed several of its concerns along with
its desire to revise the Town’s present cable TV ordinance and
revocable permit to include these concerns.Ordinances and fran
chise agreements of several other towns are presently being reviewed
by the Committee.It was agreed that the Town would draft an ordi
nance and franchise agreement and submit them to Mickelson Media
Inc.for its review.
REPORTS:
Light &Power Director Dekker reported on the progress of Rawhide
and announced that a tour of the plant site will be arranged for
the annual PRPA meeting in April.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
