HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1981-01-080 0 BRADFORD PUBLISHING CO.,DENVER R E C 0 R D 0 F P R 0 C E E D I N G S Light &Power Committee January 8,1981 Committee:Chairman Burgess,Trustees Graves and Houston Attending:Chairman Burgess,Trustee Houston Also Attending:Mayor Tregent,Trustee Meusel,Town Administrator Hill, Light &Power Director Dekker,Finance Officer Duncan Absent:Trustee Graves ENERGY AND MAN’S ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM CONTRIBUTION: The Town of Estes Park’s contribution towards continuing the Energy and Man’s Environment Program will increase from $651 in 1980 to $723 in 1981.The Committee recommends continuing with the program in 1981 at a cost of $723. LIGHT &POWER CUSTOMER DEPOSIT POLICY: The Committee reviewed current policies regarding customer deposits on Light &Power accounts and recommends that Section 13.08.050 of the Municipal Code be retained and that the following policy be adopted: Residential Requirements:Residential Service $50.00 Deposit All—Electric Residential Service $125.00 Deposit Deposits are held for two years and refunded only after the establish ment of good credit which is the result of not appearing on the shut—off list for the previous two years. Commercial Requirements:Minimum $50.00 or amount estimated for a 90 days bill Deposits are held for three years and are refunded after that time con tingent upon payment record established —not appearing on the shut—off list for the previous three years. SUBSTATION TELEPHONES AND SHOP RADIO: Light &Power Director Dekker proposed installing telephones at the Marys Lake and Estes Park Substations and a radio at the Light and Power Shop to facilitate communications.The cost of installation would be approximately $140 and the monthly chargeswould be about $30.The Committee recommends approval. REPORTS: The pass—on rate increase was approved by the Public Utilities Commission and became effective January 7,1981. The Marys Lake Substation began operation on January 5,1981. The alarm system for the methane gas venting operation in the Light and Power Shop has been connected to the police department.
