HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Light and Power Committee 1984-09-06CO.RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS /Light and Power Committee September 6,1984 Committee:Chairman Graves,Trustees Laing and Brown Attending:Chairman Graves,Trustees Laing and Brown Also Attending:Town Administrator Hill,Light and Power Director Dekker,Finance Officer Vavra, Clerk O’Connor 1985 BUDGET REVIEW: The Committee reviewed and discussed the preliminary draft of the budget for 1985. CASCADE DAN and HYDRO PLANT FACILITIES: Director Dekker advised the Committee of four Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)options available regarding the hydro plant facilities:1.Rebuild Cascade Dam,Penstock and Hydro Plant to pre-flood condition;2.Build diversion structure at dam site and rebuild hydro plant and penstock using flexible funding;3.Build diversion structure and related facilities only (not using flexible funding);4.Do not rebuild any of the hydro facilities and use flexible funding for other capital projects.The Committee discussed the various advantages and disadvantages of each option.A preliminary preference,based on the feasibility study,would be to build the diversion structure which would be most cost—effective.The Park Service has ex pressed an interest in acquiring the Town’s rights located at the Cascade Dam.Pending further information,no action was taken at this time. LONG-RANGE PLAN FOR STREET LIGHT ADDITIONS: Director Dekker submitted a long-range plan for street light additions.The Committee recommends the proposed budget for new street lights in 1985 remain at $15,000.
