Meeting held in the Town Hall on the 18th day of August, 1959 at 4:00 P.M. Present: Also Present: Absent: Joe Connelly, Chairman, Ronald Brodie, G. H. Gillan, Charles F. Hix, J. 0, Mall Verne H. In accordance vjith the published legal notice. Chairman Connelly opened the meeting and proceeded to conduct a public hearing regarding a filed request to re-zone the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Range 73 West, commonly referred to as a portion of the High Drive area from the existing "Tourist District" to the proposed "Estate E-1 District". Approximately fifty interested property owners were present. Mr..Lisle Ware and Mr. Robert Knowles spokesmen for the group favoring re-zoning addressed the Commission and explained why in their opinion the area should be re—zoned. The following persons also spoke favoring re—zoning: Alfred Wands, George Hastings, Robert Dickey, Mr. Sanders, Mrs. Noble, Charlotte Truesdale and Mrs. Boos. Mr. Hunt also spoke suggesting that a part of the area be re-zoned to Estate E-1 and the balance of the area be re-zoned to a Residence District. Mr. Knowles filed sixty-one signed petitions from property owners.of the area favoring re-zoning. 1-Ir. H. F, Miller, Attorney at Law representing Clare Welker and E. R. Anderson property owners spoke opposing the proposed re-zoning. Mir. Miller also suggested the possibility of the area in question being re-zoned to "Accommodation District." The follovdng persons also spoke opposing the re-zoning: Mrs. J. F. Lehman, Mrs. E. R. Anderson and Mr. Prentice Fischer. All those present having been heard and the Commission being fully informed. Chairman Connelly adjourned the public hearing. Follovdng the hearing, the Commission unanimously instructed the Secretary to request lir. Trafton Bean, Planning Consultant to come to Estes Park, reviev; the proceedings, inspect the site of property involved and present his analysis and recommendation to the Commission. Mr. Emil Wurgler appeared before the Commission and filed a request to re-zone the property located betvreen the Reed's Subdivision and the Big Thompson River from existing Tourist District to a Residential District. The petition was signed hy eight property ovmers. C. F. Hix moved that legal notice be published, that the Commission vdll consider the request at the next regular meeting. G. H. Gillan seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. Mr. Clarence Jacobson together with Mr. Howell Dieterich appeared before the Commission and filed a preliminary plat for a proposed subdivision and annexation located in the Hyde Park. The preliminary dravang appeared to be in order, G. H. Gillan moved that it be approved and the final tracing prepared and sub­ mitted to the Town Board. C. F. .Hix seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. There being no further business, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn. Chairman Attest:
