HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Estes Park Regional Planning Commission 1957-09-17RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Minutea of a regular meeting of the Estes Park Regional Planning Commission* Meeting held in the Town Hall, on the l?th day of September, 1957t at 7:30 P*M* Present: G.H. Gillan, Chairman, Val Benard, Charles Herzog, Charles Hix, C.M. Hunter, C*A. Law, Dr. J.O. Mall, Glenn Prosser. Also Present: John Morris, Planning Consultant, Verne H. Fanton, Secretary. Absent: Ronald Brodle, Donald Griffith* Minutes of the regular meeting held on August 27th, read and approved* Mr* Louis Kinman appeard before the Commission, supporting his application for a permit to erect and operate a children1s amusement park, to be located East of the Stanley Hotel entrance* The application was read in full* Charles Hlx moved that the application be reffered to the advisory committee for recommendation* C*A* Law seconded the motion* Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried* The Secretary read an application for a building permit, signed by Igor Polevitzky, for the construction of six additional accomodation units and office, to be located at the applicants present operations on Fall River Glenn Prosser moved that the application be referred to the advisory Committee* Charles Hix seconded the motion* Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried* Regarding the building permit filed by Dennis Griffith at the last meeting, for the erection of a commercial livery, the Secretary read the report of the advisory committee rejecting the application, supported by a petition and a letter* In view of the report, Glenn Prosser moved that the recommen­ dation be accepted and the application rejected* C.M* Hunter seconded the motion* Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried* In reviewing the work yet to be completed in the region, Charles Hix in­ troduced the following Resolution and moved that it be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The Larimer County Commissioners have approved and assisted in the operations of The Estes Park Regional Planning Commission; AND vrSEREAS, said Regional Commission will, during the coming continue to be engaged in the Planning and Zoning of the area adjacent to the Town of Estes Park; a. ^AND TOEREAS, The Town of Estes Park has, in the past, and will in the future, budget sufficient funds for the operations of the Local Planning (30im AOT°wfe:REAS, limited expenses are essential to the successful operations 0f thKOWefiMETOMaBE1lf RESOLVED* BE THE ESTES PARK REGIONAL PLANNING OOMHISSION that the Larimer County Commissioners respectfully be asked to approve the A* Sufficient funds to insure the continued professional services of a County Planning Consultant , available to this Commission for regular meeting attendance, and to complete the regional zoning, together with actual publication and miscellaneous costs* B/ The sum of Nine Hundred dollars for all general administrative purposes of this Commission* C.M* Hunter seconded the motion* carried* Upon roll call said motion unanimously Glenn Prosser reported that he had been appointed a member of the County Board of Adjustment and Charles Hlx an associate member, and that they would attend the initial meeting in Fort Collins on Sept* 18th* RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Sept. 17, 1957 Page 2 John Morris, Planning Consultant, reported that in order to aid the advisory committees, property ownership maps for the region should he available by the next meeting, also that maps showing the boundaries of the various Planning Districts of the County were being prepared. Mr. Morris also stated that a model sign code was being prepared. The Commission engaged in a general discussion on the mec^nics, pto- ceedure and timeing of work to be done toward adopting a final zonlne code.
