HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Estes Park Planning Commission 1957-05-21RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Minutes of a regular meeting of the Estes Park Local Planning Commission, meeting held in the Town Hall on the 21st day of May, 1957> s-t 7:30 P»M. Present: G-.H. G-lllan, Chairman, Charles Herzog, Charles Hlx, C.A. Law, G-lenn Prosser. Also Present; Verne H. Fanton, Secretary, Trafton Bean, Planning Consultant Absent; Ronald Brodie. Minutes of the regular meeting held on April 23, read and approved. Mrs. Russell Millet appeared before the Commission, stated that her residence in Little Prospect Addition was in a Residence Zone, that she was asking for a permit to conduct a pre-school age child care center, to accomodate a maximum of 20 children. Mr. Bean stated that the request cohld be decided by the Board of Adjustment. Chairman G-lllan ordered the request set for consideration and recommendation at the next meeting. Mr. C.A. Law presented a plan to construct an additional building at the West end of the Twin Owls motor lodge, for additional rental units. The West 75 feet of the Twin Owls property now being zoned for residence purposes, Mr. Law asked that the 75 feet be changed to 35 feet of Residence zone, in order to permit the addition. The request was set for conslderatio at the next meeting. The Secretary asked that a name be assigned the Town street, used as the entrance to Fort Morgan colony. Charles Hlx moved that the street be named "Morgan Street". Charles Herzog seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. Trafton Bean reported that the Annexation Code would be presented in final form at the next meeting. There being no further business, the meel lourned. Meeting held in the Town Hall on the 21st day of May, 1957 at 7:30 P.M. Present: G.H. Gillan, Chairman, Charles Herzog, Chalres Hix, C.M. Hunter, C.A. Law, Dr. J.O. Mall, Donald Griffith and Glenn Prosser. Also Present: Verne H. Fanton, Secretary, Trafton Bean, Planning Consultan Absent: Eonald Brodie. Minutes of the regular meeting held on April 23rd read and approved. The following persons, having been appointed as advisory committees, representing Estes Park Planning District No. were present; E.M. Shidler Miss Lois Griffith Milton Hayes Joe Connelly Mrs. Robt. Hutchinson Bernard Dannels Paul Fisher Dwight Adrian At the invitation of this Commission the members of the North End Commission, Frank McGraw, R.T. McCracken and R.L. McConnell, together with the members of the Fish Creek District, J. 0. Mall, M.H. Soglow, and R.H. Krogh were also present. This being the initial meeting with the advisory committees, Trafton Bean addressed the group informing them regarding the reasons for eoning, proceedure for adopting zoning, action to be taken by the committees, typical zoning areas and standards, and then conducted a question and answer period. Mr. Bean then spoke on the present land use map of the region, ex­ plaining the need for coordination between the three Planning Districts within this Region. On roll call all of the above advisory committee members present agreed to serve in their respective areas. Mr. Bean stated that the committees would be supplied with work maps and zoning standards in the very near future. This part of the meeting then adjourned The Secretary presented an application for a building permit, signed by R.D. Taylor, for an addition to the Monogram Shop, on Fall River road. Action on the application v:as held for the next meeting. The Secretary read a letter from The Bond Agency, asking assurance that a particular property on Fall River road could be developed for accomodation rental purposes. The Commission decided that a building permit application would have to be filed and acted upon in order to determine the approved use of the land. Donald Griffith reported on the monthly meeting of the Larimer County Planning Commission and returned two sub-division plats that had been approved by this Commission, because there were no land use restrictions on the face of the plat. The Commission and Mr. Bean agreed that a public body, such as a Planning and Zoning Board, is interested in the applicable zoning standards and subdivision regulations, that further restrictions are a matter of Deed Restrictions and should not appear on the face of the plat, and therefore the approved plats are in order. l'4r.
