Minutes of a Special meeting of the Estes Park Planning Commission,
held at the Town Hall, on November 29, 1955 e.t 1:00 P.M.
Present: Chairman, Charles F* Hlx, Members, Dr. J.O. Mall, Don G-rifflth,
G-lenn Prosser, and Charles Herzog.
Also Present, VJalter Edv:ards, Superintendent of Schools.
Meeting called to order by Charles F. Hix. Chairman Hix stated that
the purpose of the meeting was to interview Mr. V/aiter Maitland as a
prospective Planning Engineer and Consultant. Mr. Maitland proceeded
to explain to the Commission his methods of operation. Mr. Maitland
recommended that the Commission consider reorganizing into a Statutory
Regional Planning Commission, to conform with the Fort Collins and
Loveland Planning Commissions. He stated that in the preparation of
a master plan, the first objective would be a land use survey, and
then the planning of streets, traffic, zoning, and recreation.
Mr. V/alter Edvrards stated that the schools would deflnltly want to
participate in the adoption of a master plan for the community.
At the conclusion, Mr. Maitland agreed to submit a proposal, in
vnritIng, for the preparation of a master plan, including costs.
