THE ESTES PARK PLANNING COMMISSION
Minutes of a Special meeting of the Estes Park Planning Commission,
held at the Tovrn Hall on the 22nd day of November, 1955 at 2:00 P.M.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Charles F. Hlx. Present; G.H.
Gillan, Vice-Chairman, Glenn Prosser, Charles Herzog, Don Griffith,
Dr. J.O. Mall and Verne Fanton, Secretary.
Absent; C.A. Law, C.M. Hunter, R.C. Brodle, E.R. Smith, and Helen
Hutchinson:
Minutes of the regular meeting held on October l8th, weie read and
approved.
The Secretary reported that the Town Council had approved the re-
conimendations of this Coaraleslon regarding the rc-zonlng of Lot 36,
White Meadow View Place Addition and Lots 7, 8, and 9 of Buenna Vista
Terrace•
The Secretary also reported that Mr. Justiis Smith, a raember of the
Planning Commission's staff, who was to have been present at this
meeting, was 111 and on leave of absence, and would not be able to appear.
Upon the recommendation of Mr. W.M. Williams, Director of the
Planning Commission, Mr. Trafton Bean, Planning Engineer, of Boulder,
Colorado, was Invited to attend this meeting. Mr. Bean explained his
metods of operation and the details of how a master plan might be
prepared for Estes Park. A general discussion was conducted regarding
the moot important phases and the Immediate needs for an accepted

master plan for the community, including highways, streets, traffic,
parking, shopping development, lend use, water and recreation.
At the conclusion, Mr. Bean agreed to present a definite proposal
in writing, for the preparation of a master plan, and present it for
consideration within the next three weeks.
In further discussing the employment of a Planning Engineer,
the Shsc Commission ask that Mr. V/alter Maitland be invited to meet
with them on November 28th, and 1:00 P.M.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
the meeting adjourned.
