Chairman Phares called the special meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Resolution No. 125 - Agreement With Design Studios West, Inc.
Director Anderson reviewed DSW's proposal with the Board. Staff
recommends awarding DSW a contract for the project planning, design
development, and cost estimates of the East Corridor Riverwalk, and
related Big Thompson River hydraulic studies. It is imperative
this work be completed to meet a construction deadline in the river
for the end of October.
Commissioner Hondius expressed his views regarding the costs
involved and basic concept of the entire project. Commissioner
Pauley noted the river corridors are Estes Park's greatest asset,
requiring first-rate design and construction.
Director Anderson read Resolution No. 125 (EPURA Approving an
Agreement with Design Studios West, Inc. for the Design and Plan
of the East Corridor Riverwalk, whereupon it was moved and seconded
(Pauley-Ericson) said resolution be adopted. Those voting Yes;
Commissioners Phares, Pauley, Pohl, Ericson, Godbolt, Klaphake.
Those voting No; Commissioner Hondius. Motion carried.
Bids for riverwalk signs will be resubmitted by those firms
responding to the Request for Proposal.
A Request for Proposal to perform detailed survey work along a
portion of the East Corridor Riverwalk is being prepared for
distribution.
Director Anderson requested an Executive Session to discuss
property acquisition. There being no objection and no further
business to come before the Board, Chairman Phares adjourned the
meeting.
