WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park,Colorado has been the
beneficiary of Nancy Almond’s passion,advocacy,creative
talents,selfless dedication,community philanthropy,and
community building;and
WHEREAS,Nancy Almond led and supervised the nonprofit
organization,Estes Valley Investment in Childhood Success
(EVICS)since 2005,serving hundreds of families and children
and providing childcare and education scholarships totaling
over $250,000,and elevating EVICS as a Family Resource
Center in 2018,allowing the organization to grow and expand
services and capacity for all families in Estes Park;and
WHEREAS,Nancy Almond,in her leadership capacity,became a
Buell Early Childhood leader,gaining the capacity to strengthen and
improve programs and policies which support young children;and
WHEREAS,during her time at EVICS,Nancy served on state and local
committees to catalyze funding and advocate on behalf of the entire Estes
Valley,building awareness of early childhood and family needs;and
WHEREAS,Nancy Almond was instrumental in the formation of the
Community and Family Advisory Board in 2018;serving as an appointed
member to provide vital feedback to the Board of Trustees through
researching information important to families,so all can live,work,and thrive
in Estes Park;and
WHEREAS,Nancy Almond is eager to serve her community,and enjoys the
laughter and presence of friends,families,and children alike.She inspires
countless nonprofit leaders,early childhood educators,professionals,and
decisionmakers with her endless passion advocacy.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of
the Town of Estes Park do hereby recognize
NANCY ALMOND
and do hereby find it an honor and distinct pleasure to present this Proclamation
in recognition of her many contributions and the joy she has brought to the Town
of Estes Park.
