ENTERPRISE and TRUST FUNDS. Town Administrator Widmer introduced the Year 2000 Budget which is the second year of the 2-year budget process. Finance Officer Vavra presented the Proposed Year 2000 Budget Executive Summary and reviewed Governmental Funds. As authorized by the Town Board, an application process for community service funding was implemented. Representatives from Crossroads, Partners and the Salud Foundation were present and expressed their appreciation for the funding amounts for Year 2000, adding that the application process was well received. Concluding his review of the Governmental Funds, Officer Vavra was directed to continue with the Enterprise and Trust Funds. Trustee Baudek noted that with a 2-yr. budget, the majority of the work was completed last year—review this year consisted of changes within funds. Officer Vavra noted that the Community Development Committee previously recommended approval of an expenditure of $1,968.83 for electric service for the Museum. This expenditure is the only change to the proposed budget and funding will be authorized in a 1999 Budget Supplement Resolution that is being prepared for Town Board approval. The Town Board recommended no other changes pending the Public Hearing scheduled Novembers, 1999. Trustee Barker questioned the possibility of exploring enhancing the ability for residents to have internet access in their homes. Discussion followed on the Fiber Lease, with Staff confirming that, if directed, this request could be a special project. Town Administrator Widmer noted he was pleased with the way the 2-yr. budget worked - departments did a good job in looking ahead, and changes were not excessive. This speaks well for the process, and it reduced work for all involved. Mayor Dekker expressed the Board’s appreciation to the audience for their comments, noting that as all funds were reviewed, the budget study session scheduled November 2nd was cancelled. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:28 a.m. Vickie O’Connor, CMC/AAE, Town Clerk
