HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Estes Park Local Planning Commission 1967-05-16Minutes of a regular meeting of the Estes Park Local Planning Commission, held in the Town Hall on the 16th day of May, 1967 at 3:00 p.m. Present: Chairman Pro Tern Carl Swanson; R.C. Brodie, Dale Hill, Chas. F. Hix, Verne H. Fanton, Secretary. Absent: Chairman Harry Miles; Howard Stewart, Minutes of the regular meeting held on April 18, 1967 and the special meeting held on April 26, 1967 were read and approved as read. The Secretary read a resolution passed by the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners abolishing all regional planning commissions in Larimer County, establishing one planning commission for all of Larimer County, and providing for the appointment of two members from the Estes Park area to serve on the County planning commission. In accordance with Public Notice published, the Commission proceeded to conduct a public hearing on a request submitted by Mr. J. R. McKelvey requesting that Rock Acres Addition to the Town of Estes Park be rezoned from the present R-2 Multiple-Family Residence District to a C-2 Restricted Commercial District. The following persons appeared before the Commission stating that they were pro­ perty owners in the area involved and registered their objections to the proposed rezoning: William Burgess, Robert Burgess, Erwin Groover, Lora Keck, Joe Crowley, Mrs. Thelma Chapman, Mrs. McAllister, and Mr. Dwight Chapman. Mr. J. R. McKelvey together with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mutchler spoke supporting the request. Following discussion and consideration by the Commission, R. C. Brodie moved the request be tabled for further consideration at the next meeting. Dale Hill seconded the c^11T!th^.motion carried by the following votes. Those voting Yes Dale Hill, R. C.
