COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT. INTRODUCE SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR. . , r- Mqr Winslow introduced Lexy Jacobson who began work as Special Events Coordinator the first of October. Chair Levine asked if a contingency plan had been established for Bond Park closures if MacGregor Avenue in front of the municipal building was unavailable. Mgr. Winslow confirmed a plan was being developed. October visitation has surpassed October 2010 numbers by over 10,000 people, and YTD visitation is up a total of 25.5%. A significant decrease in telephone calls is attributed to visitors utilizing the internet and other technology as an information source. • Ambassadors Report - Manager Salerno reported that the Ambassadors continue to assist the CVB staff on the weekends and some weekdays following the change to winter hours. Sandy Osterman/Ambassador President spoke to the makeup and duties of the Ambassador volunteer group and the training they receive. The Committee expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ambassadors and suggested Ms. Osterman present her report to the Board at an upcoming Town Board meeting. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT. REPORTS. Reports provided for informational purposes and made a part of the proceedings. • Monthly Building Division Report - Chief Building Official Birchfield summarized the Building Division report noting that construction activity remains higher than last year with a 42% increase in issued permits, a 21% increase in valuation, and a 26% increase in fee collection. He noted staff received approximately 10 times the normal inquiries on flood plain concerns this past spring. A number of projects that were on hold had reactivated due to the Town Board approving a temporary waiver for the expiration of permits. ADMINISTRATION REPORTS Reports provided for informational purposes and made a part of the proceedings. • Public Information Quarterly Report - Public Information Officer Rusch reported the results of the Citizen’s Survey are being reviewed by staff to identify the best ways to utilize the information. The Web Team is working toward completing content migration to the new website; the Bugle newsletter will cover the budget process for 2012, with the Bugle Committee proposing a move toward electronic distribution of the newsletter; and the PIO will assume responsibilities related to the 2012 Citizens Information Academy which is scheduled for February and March of 2012.
