COMMISSIONER DISCUSSION - DESIGN STANDARDS (DS) LED BY DIRECTOR STAMEY Director Stamey explained direction for Design Standards has come from the Comprehensive Plan (Chapter 6). RNL will review the DS in detail at the next meeting; Mr. Stamey reviewed his recommendations to EVPC/TAC. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Staff is awaiting Larimer Coimty recommendations. Mr. Stamey also presented a map illustrating a 200' width highway corridor. Commissioner comments followed. General Comments 1. Change exterior elevations • Page 20, S 1.1 - Conflicting sentences, allow courtyards, give 1-2' setback option in downtown • Page 21, S1.12 - clarify last sentence, not defined well enough to understand • Page 25-26, Need controlling access and curb cuts, improve safety • Page 30, S2.1, “native plantings”, require chemical to weather rocks Larry Gamble: • Boulder County recently completed Scenic By-way Standards, identified Estes Park, suggested inclusion of Highway 7 CLOSING COMMENTS Director Stamey expressed appreciation for cormnents, concerns and issues on this first draft which he will update RNL. EVPC is awaiting Larimer County comments. A revised document will not be available for the June 23rd EVPC Meeting.
