Mr. Bill Van Horn, representing the owner, stated the propcpsed changes to the building were for the public good; a safer build­ ing would be the end result. The natural lifespan of the build­ ing will not be increased. The right-of-way is not pertinent to this petition and should not be considered at this time. The owner was not in a position to eliminate that portion of the building within the 8' setback; however, by allowing alteration of the internal portion of the building, that portion of the building could be brought into conformance. Discussion followed regarding the "boiler room" access area and Member Sager moved the Hupp Hotel Variance Request be continued to Wednesday, May 21, 1986 at 9:00 A.M. to allow an opportunity to tour the building. Member Lamson seconded the motion and it passed by t e following votes: Those voting "Yes" Members Brown, Laing, Lamson and Sager. Those voting "No" Member Habecker.
