Meeting held in the Municipal Building in said Town of Estes Park on the 22nd day of February, 2001. Committee: Chairman Doylen, Trustees Barker and Habecker Attending: All Also Attending: Town Administrator Widmer, Advertising Manager Marsh, Director Kilsdonk, Deputy Clerk van Deutekom Absent: None Chairman Doylen called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. 1. SENIOR CENTER REPORT. Joann Thompson, Senior Center Director, reported on the election of officers for Estes Park Senior Citizens Center, Inc., Senior Center activity, and meals. Ms. Thompson noted that Special Transit added an additional day to their Estes Park service, bringing their total number of Estes Park service days to three. Walter Richards, President of Estes Park Senior Citizens Center, Inc. presented the three-year strategic plan for the Center. Items discussed include programs, outreach, funding, volunteers, membership, facility management, landscaping, and endowment programs. 2. ADVERTISING REPORT. Manager Marsh introduced Harry Graham/Landmark Hospitality, who has taken responsibility for the Media Relations Program. Mr. Graham explained the travel writer program that is being added to the existing Media Relations program. The primary goal of the travel writer program is to arrange the visit of at least one travel writer per month to the Estes Park area. Writers will in turn provide articles highlighting the Estes Park area to various publications across the country. Manager Marsh presented research highlights and key findings of the Mini Conversion Study and work in progress. 3. MUSEUM REPORT. Director Kilsdonk reported on the Estes Park Area Historical Museum Strategic Plan, 2001 exhibitions, 2001 events, and attendance statistics. Curator Record explained the 2001 exhibitions and announced a new acquisition consisting of 1300 glass slides and records used at the Park Theater. These items were donated to the Museum by Mr. Bruce Jones and are valued at $66,000.
