HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION OF RESPECT Ericson, John 2016-04-26Office of the Mayor,Estes Park,Colorado RESOLUTION OF RESPECT WHEREAS,John Ericson served the citizens of Estes Park as Trustee of the Town of Estes Park from 2008 to 2016;and WHEREAS,John participated in the community of Estes Park in numerous capacities including as a member and officer of the Rotary Club,the Citizens Economic Advisory Council, and the Library Foundation Board;and WHEREAS,John served on the following groups/committees:Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority;Chair of the Town’s Audit Committee;Member of the Public Safety /Utilities I Public Works Committee;Chair of the Community Development /Community Services Committee; Chair of the Transportation Visioning Committee;Liaison to the Transportation Advisory Board; Community Services Grant Committee;Local Marketing District Branding Committee;and liaison to the Larimer County Open Lands Advisory Board;the Parks Advisory Board,and Supporters of the Performing Arts. WHEREAS,during his tenure as Trustee,John facilitated the revision,approval, increase,establishment,improvement,and/or implementation of the following: Advocated for Increased Citizen Input for Town Board Decisions Advocated for an Update to the Comprehensive Plan Advocated for an Increased Focus on Financial Aspects of Projects and Town Budgets Advocated for a Sign Code to Retain a Tasteful Appearance of the Community Supported for the Performing Arts Center Development Supported the Goals and Projects of EPURA until its dissolution in 2010 Supported the Goals of the Estes Park Housing Authority Supported all Projects to Improve Transportation Supported the Stanley Park Master Plan Partnered with Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority to build new Grandstands at Stanley Park Fairgrounds Supported the Formation of the Local Marketing District Supported the Bond Park Master Plan Supported Trail System Expansion and Construction Supported the Implementation of Policy Governance and the Town Strategic Planning Process Supported a Capital Asset Management Plan and the Creation of the Community Center Supported the Visitor Center Parking Structure Project Supported the Museum /Senior Center Master Plan Supported the Construction of the Pavilion &Event Center at Stanley Park Fairgrounds Supported the Grant Application for Downtown Roadway Realignment Supported Flood Recovery Efforts and Floodplain Regulations Supported the 1A Sales Tax Initiative Supported the Formation of a Creative Arts District Supported the Sale of Lot 4,Stanley Historic District for Development of a Wellness Center Supported Conservation Easements for Lots 5,6,8 Stanley Historic District Provided for the Creation of the Economic Development Corp. Supported the Broadband Initiative Supported the Creation of a Downtown Neighborhood Plan Supported all Downtown Improvements NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,by this Resolution and Public Record,recognize the dedication and leadership of John Ericson and express for his service to our community. - ATTEST: ‘:• . . . .
