WHEREAS,the Day of Philanthropy is practiced
nationally to “recognize and pay tribute to the great
contributions that philanthropy and those people active
in the philanthropic community have made to our lives,
our communities and our world”;and
WHEREAS,Estes Park is blessed with active philanthropists
who,and nonprofit organizations that,enrich our community
through their generosity and caring;and
WHEREAS,the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center is
sponsoring a special event,Change the World with a Giving
Heart,to honor the power of philanthropy and to recognize the
many nonprofit organizations that benefit countless numbers of
our citizens;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park recognizes that its own efforts to
benefit citizens must be matched by the generosity of philanthropy and the
organizations that serve others.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Mayor and
Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park proclaim Friday,November 12,
2010,as
PHILANTHROPY CELEBRATION DAY
in the Town of Estes Park,Colorado and all citizens are urged to reflect on the
meaning of giving and the continuing need to recognize and support charitable
causes and their champions.
