WHEREAS,Children begin learning the moment
they are born and the first years of a child’s life are the
period of the most rapid brain development and lay the
foundation for all future learning;and
WHEREAS,EVICS Family Resource Center is working to
improve and expand early learning opportunities,which
are crucial to the growth and development of young
children,and to building better futures for everyone in the
Estes Valley;and
WHEREAS,quality early childhood education promotes the
intellectual,emotional,and physical development of children,
which in turn prepares them to be responsible and contributing
members of society;and
WHEREAS,public policies and programs which support early
learning,family strengthening,and social-emotional development
for all young children are crucial to their futures,and educators and
others who contribute significantly to the lives of young children in
our community deserve our recognition and gratitude;and
WhEREAS,Estes Park is a community which values the contributions of
our youngest citizens and their families,and understands that making
meaningful investments which support children and families leads to a
strong and sustainable economy;and
WHEREAS,the Estes Valley recognizes and celebrates young children,their
families,and early educators throughout the month of April,and advocates
that all young children in our community have what they need for a strong
start in life.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,proclaim April 2022,as the
MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD
and now declare...“Let the Wild Rumpus Start!”-Maurice Sendak,Where
the Wild Things Are
