FAIR HOUSING MONTH
April,1997
WHEREAS,the passage of the Title VIII Civil Rights Act on April 13,1908,proclaimed Fair Housing as
National Policy;and
WHEREAS,the Fair Housing Act of 1988 furlherad the ii68 AcL i en.that ai individuals of like income,
regardless o race,color,religion,gender,national origin,family Statu3,handicap,or dsabiiity,are to have jual
access and uqual housing choices available to thorn,free frurn scri;niation;and
WHEREAS,the expansion of Fair Housing as Law protects rnentul and p.ysicaliy challenjed persons fot
sclmnation in housing;and
WHEREAS,the month of April has been dedicated with special focus and ernphaais as Fair Housing Manth.
NOW,ThEREFOR,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby
join with all Larirner County communities to proclaim and rededicate the month of April 1997 us
