HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Estes Park Memorial Observatory 2009-04-25(tt.arft,(otorabo to clamatlo II WHEREAS,the Angels Above Foundation was established to commemorate and honor Thomas and Christian Connolly who lost their lives in a traffic accident in 2005;and WHEREAS,the idea of a Memorial Observatory was conceived to celebrate the Connolly family’s interest in science,math,and astronomy;and in remembrance of the many nights they spent together viewing stars and planets; and WHEREAS,the construction of the Estes Park Memorial Observatory has been a cooperative effort supported by the Town of Estes Park,located on the school campus on land donated by Park School District R-3,and will be utilized by the students of the district and the general public as a hands-on educational resource; and WHEREAS,the Grand Opening and dedication of the Estes Park Memorial Observatory was held on Saturday,April 25,2009,and celebrated by the community.
