HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Coach Black, Perry 2005-09-231tar (Etc park,Qfotorabo to clamatto II REAS,Coach Perry Black has served the students,parents and families of Park District R-3 as a dedicated coach and exemplary role model for 30 years.He has innumerable young lives making an indelible impression on each and every one, WHEREAS,Coach Perry Black received his Bachelors in Education with a major in Physical Education May 23,1965 and his Masters with a major m Physical Education August 19,1966 at Central MO State University in Warrensburg,Mo.,and--‘WHEREAS,Coach Perry Black started his teaching career at Lee’s Summit School District as an Elementary Physical Education teacher in 1965.He also taught Junior High and High School Physical Education in the Grandview School District,and WHEREAS,Coach Perry Black was first employed by Park R-3 in August,1975 as a physical education and drivers education teacher,and WHEREAS,he has taken on several roles in the School District,to include;coach,teacher,bus driver,athletic director,assistant principal,and friend to all,and, WHEREAS,in 1997,Coach Perry Black was honored by his fellow teachers with the Tommy Thomson Award as the teacher of the year in Park R-3 School District.This honor was given to Coach Perry Black for his dedication to the teaching profession,his positive impact on students,and his support of his colleagues,and WHEREAS,Coach Perry Black retired in 2004 and currently serves as honorary captain of the Bobcat football team. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,proclaim September 23,2005 COACH PERRY BLACK DAY The Town of Estes Park,the Park R-3 School District,and all citizens of our community express its deep appreciation to Coach Perry Black for his exemplary history of service to the Park R-3 School District. -In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused this seal to be affixed.
