WHEREAS,Estelle Boles started teaching in Estes Park in 1972.She
moved to Estes Park from Boulder,Colorado,but was originally from
Kansas.She was lured to Estes Park because she wanted to live in a
smaller town and enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains;and
WHEREAS,Estelle Boles has taught first,Second,fourth Grades and
Kindergarten.When she first moved to town,she also substituted in
Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.Mrs.Boles’favorite grade level to
teach is clearly the one that she is in now —Kindergarten;and
WHEREAS,Estelle Boles has worked for many principals during her teaching
career,namely Karl Ebel,Mr.freedan,Mike Peterson,Barb Richardson,
Steve Peterson,Lana Hunter,and her current principal John Wahler;and
WHEREAS,when asked about the biggest change that she has seen in her
career,Estelle says that teachers must do so much more nowadays than she
ever experienced in her past teaching years;and
WHEREAS,it is estimated that Estelle Boles has taught and impacted the
lives of nearly 1,200 students in her teaching carrer.Each year,it is an Estes
Park tradition for Estelle to meet with the Estes Park High School graduates
who got off to a great start in her Kindergarten classroom;and
WHEREAS,Estelle Boles is an Estes Park Elementary institution,and she has
the respect and admiration of parents,teachers,adminsifrators,and children
from all around the Estes Valley and the state of Colorado;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Town of Estes Park do hereby proclaim,honor and praise Estelle Boles for her 32 years
of great memoriesl
