‘X’HEREAS,interscholastic sports and fine arts activities promote
citizenship and sportsmanship;instill a sense of pride in community,teach
lifelong lessons of teamwork and self-discipline and facilitate the physical and
emotional development of our youth;and
WHEREAS,athletic programs provide valuable lessons for practical
F situations —teamwork,sportsmanship,winning and losing,and hard work.
Through participation in athletic programs,students learn self-discipline,build
self-confidence and develop skills to handle competitive situations.
WHEREAS,participation in middle school and high school activities is
often a predictor of later success —in college,a career and becoming a contributing
member of society;and
WHEREAS,the joy and excitement of school athletics enhances the quality of life in Estes Park;
and
WHEREAS,we,the Town,community,parents and friends applaud your hard work and
accomplishments;and
WHEREAS,we are dam proud of you.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED thattheMayorandTmstees of
the Town of Estes Park hereby declare the week October 20,2003 as
BOBCAT ATHLETICS WEEK
In the Town of Estes Park and urge all citizens to join together to support and recognize the efforts of
our middle and high school athletes.
