WREREAS,in 1927,the Federation of Organizations
for the Hard of Hearing established a National
Hearing Week;and
WHEREAS,this observance,expanded to Better
Hearing Month in 1958;and
WhEREAS,since 1972,Better Hearing and Speech Month
has been observed;and
WHEREAS,this allows for education for those with hearing
and speech issues,as well as those around them;and
WHEREAS,different techniques have been proven to benefit
one’s isolation and depression,balance issues,as well as cognitive
decline;and
WhEREAS,your own hometown hearing facility,Community
Hearing Center,was established in 1989;and
WHEREAS,your local Audiologist,Dr.Cory Workman,and his staff
are here to help you and loved ones achieve the quality of life that’s
deserved.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,proclaim May 2022,as the
MONTH OF BETTER HEARING AND SPEECH
and thank all citizens who are participating in this year’s Better Hearing and
Speech on the date of April 22,2022,and support the efforts of education of
hearing loss and letting those know,they do not have to be a spectator to the
world.
