WHEREAS,Craig Beishe having been born 1954 and growing up with three
brothers —Chris,Curt and Dee;and
WHEREAS,Craig Beishe took on his first administrative job as assistant principal of Estes Park
High School;and
WHEREAS,Craig Belshe during the next few decades,successfully stepped into difficult leadership
positions in the Park R-3 School District as principal of Estes Park Middle School,Estes Park High
School,and most recently as the principal of Estes Park Intermediate School.In each principalship,
Mr.Beishe took schools in varying states of disarray and turned these schools into top-notch
institutions respected not only by Estes Park residents but also by educators across the State of
Colorado;and
WHEREAS,this past winter,Mr.Beishe was named the National Distinguished Principal for the
State of Colorado.This prestigious award identifies Mr.Belshe as one of the top administrators in
our State and country;and
WHEREAS,Mr.Belshe leaves a legacy spanning three decades.He has touched countless lives.
Students will remember him for his gentle manner and genuine concern.Teachers will remember
Mr.Belshe as a dynamic leader who always put people first.The Town of Estes Park will remember
Mr.Belshe as the finest educational administrator of this town’s important educational history.
WHEREAS,Craig Beishe,his wife Peg,and his daughter Charlotte are now headed to the Cherry
Creek School District.Mr.Beishe will be the Principal of Willow Creek Elementary School.This
staff has no idea of the caliber administrator that Estes Park is sending their way.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes
Park do hereby acknowledge June 8th as
“CRAIG BELSHE DAY”

WHEREAS,he had a son Jackson in 1979 and married a teacher and
librarian wife Peg,and celebrated the birth of his daughter Charlotte,in 1992;
and
WHEREAS,Craig Beishe came to Estes Park for his first teaching job over
30 years ago and started as a physical education teacher and coach;and
WHEREAS,during his first years in Estes Park,Craig Belshe ran a
swimming pool,acted as lifeguard and pool manager,worked at the Wheel
Bar and the lumberyard,and successfully coached swimming,track,football,
knowledge bowl,wrestling and his favorite sport basketball;and
