WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park,Colorado recognizes
the economic impact of travel and tourism and the benefits of
our many lodging properties,including bed and breakfasts
throughout our area;and
WHEREAS,in recognition of the substantial contributions made by
bed and breakfasts to our Town and to Colorado by creating an
enjoyable experience for guests while instilling an appreciation of our
state’s many assets including our history,shops,restaurants,museums,
art,culture,parks,recreational activities and leisure attractions,among
others;and
WHEREAS,in recognition of Estes Park’s tourism-related industry,
businesses,amenities and associations,which contribute so much to the
development of this burgeoning B&B industry;and
WHEREAS,bed and breakfasts provide significant local and state revenues from
which our entire citizenry benefits;and
WHEREAS,given these laudable contributions to the economic,social and
cultural well-being of the residents of Estes Park,Colorado,it is fitting that we
recognize the efforts of Bed &Breakfast Innkeepers of Colorado (BBIC),the
statewide association dedicated to hospitality and quality lodging and welcome the
organization to our Town from November 9-10,2008 for the 22 annual BBIC
Aspiring Innkeepers Day,B&B Tour and Open House,Welcome Dinner,
Conference,Trade Show and Membership Meeting;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Town of Estes Park proclaim the month of November 200$as
BED &BREAKFAST APPRECIATION MONTH
in Estes Park,Colorado with thanks and recognition for BBIC’s efforts in providing
educational opportunities for bed and breakfast innkeepers to increase business
viability and continue the beneficial economic impact to our region and the state of
Colorado.
