WHEREAS,Joel Estes settled in this beautiful valley in 1859
and subsequently became the Town’s namesake;and
WHEREAS,over time,the Estes settlement grew,attracting
interesting,colorful personalities to the area who were
responsible for developing large cattle ranches,hunting
preserves,and hotels;and who began to establish Estes Park
as a popular resort destination and gateway to Rocky
Mountain National Park;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park’s incorporation was paid for
by $5.00 donations from 19 of the Town’s founding fathers,and
Articles of Incorporation were filed on April 7,1917;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park is now celebrating its 90th
Anniversary and has grown into a Town that provides reliable,high-value
services to its citizens and visitors,and takes pride in ensuring and
enhancing the quality of life in its community by being a good steward of
public resources and our natural selling;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board
of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby proclaim April 7,2007 the
90th Anniversary of the Town of Estes Park
