WHEREAS,Paula Steige served the citizens of Estes Park from
1996 to 2008 as an Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority Commissioner,
including acting as Vice-Chair from 2006 through June 2008;and
Estes Park Conference Center
The Riverwalk
Elkhom Avenue Streetscape
Performance Park
Riverspointe
Wiest Plaza
Acquisition of the Knoll as Open Space
Knoll Willow Overlook
And a variety of other public improvements;and
WHEREAS,Paula also served the community as a Trustee of
the Town of Estes Park from 1984 until 1987 during which time she
served on the following committees:Light and Power Committee;
Public Safety Committee;Administrative Committee,Stanley Park
Committee;and the Board of Adjustments;and
WHEREAS,Paula,a long-time resident of Estes Park and owner
of Macdonald’s Book Shop,has been honored for her dedication to the
economic and cultural growth of the community;named the Estes Park
Business Person of the Year for 200$;and awarded the 200$Bookseller
of the Year Award from the Mountains and Plains Independent
Booksellers Association.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and
Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,by this Resolution and
Public Record,recognize the dedication and leadership of Paula Steige
and express our profound appreciation for her service to our community.
